The homeland of pineapple is South America, where it grows wild. Today, pineapples are grown in many countries with tropical and subtropical climates. The Hawaiian pineapples enjoy the best fame.

The first European, who tasted fresh pineapple, was probably Christopher Columbus. Initially, in Europe, pineapple was considered "the fruit of kings". Supposedly, the European "world premiere" of pineapple took place on the table of Louis XIV. It was not an imported pineapple, but already grown in royal greenhouses.

The Caribbean pond "ana-ana" means "perfuma perfume" in Polish”. Substantially, fresh pineapple fruit combines the aromas and flavors of strawberry, peach and rennet.

Pineapple, in a fresh state, it is a very healthy fruit. Due to the content of ferment, which greatly facilitates protein digestion (bromelain) it is recommended to eat pineapple especially after heavy meat days.

Unfortunately, tinned pineapple loses these valuable properties, it loses a lot of taste and aroma.

Fresh pineapples are very rare in our stores so far. But also preserved (slices and cubes in syrup) they are very attractive. We serve them as a compote, we add to various salads, also as a suit for roasted and fried meats.

Sandwiches decorated with pineapple pieces are also very tasty, especially the tiny sandwiches consisting of ementaler cube, a piece of pineapple and walnut halves. The sweet and aromatic pineapple liqueur is especially appreciated by ladies. Of course, all of this for great occasions.

Despite these many and great advantages of pineapple, the term "pineapple" of a young man is definitely pejorative.
