The opinions of the venerable Church Fathers about broad beans were also divided. Clement of Alexandria argued, that broad beans bring sterility, st. Hieronymus attributed aphrodisiac properties to him. They both didn't, of course, right.

At the Romans and former Germans, boiled broad beans were served at funeral feasts.

In exquisite cuisine, broad beans did not make a career, as it promotes the formation of "winds" in the intestines”. However, it is a very nutritious vegetable, because it contains a lot of protein and B vitamins.

Cooked (not quite mature!) it is quite popular in folk cuisine and among young people who use a lot of movement. Elderly people and all these should be avoided, who lead a sedentary lifestyle.
